Arana sports very sucessfully ran the
canteenfor the Army Athletics Carnival on July 14th which was very
impressive to watch, especially the Tug of War! and again for the North West
District Sports Days on the 21st & 22nd July. A massive ‘thanks’ to the volunteers who
turned up to help out with canteen & drink van duty. Feedback from both user groups was really
positive with both groups wanting to use the facilities again next year. Thank you to Arana Leagues Club for all their
help and assistance, their help ensures these events are a success.
July 2010 Update
Congratulations to West Arana Hills Rugby League Football Club on their
successful application to have their non- slip flooring upgraded at the
clubhouse. Keep a look out for their
great new makeover.
“The non-slip
flooring for the West Arana Hills Rugby League Football Club was
proudly funded by the Queensland Government's Gambling Community
Benefit Fund.” Watch this space for
the before and after photos coming soon.
The crew at Arana Ascot Junior Hockey Club
has a few reasons to have great big smiles on their faces….not only did they
get their funding for their IT equipment, new goal keeping equipment and
coaching workshops, from the Gambling
Community Benefit Fund, they won the KFC around the grounds competition – giving them $1000
to assist with the development of club facilities. Heals or Wally and the
Channel Nine Promotional team will visit the winning club's home ground, where
they will present the cheque and the Nine Sports Bulletin live.
Photos of both of these great wins will be on the website soon.
