Sport & Recreation Officer
This position is open to a highly motivated and community orientated citizen with a proven record in the administration of volunteer organisations.  Planning skills of a high order are essential as is an established success rate in obtaining sponsorship and Grant funding.

Well developed liaison skills reflect the requirements of the position as does flexibility. This position is focused on working with sports clubs and other community groups in promoting active involvement (particularly children) in healthy lifestyle activities such as sport.  Tertiary qualifications are desirable.

Lighting at Leslie Patrick Park
April will see the upgrade of the Lights in Leslie Patrick Park from 50 Lux to 100 Lux.  This upgrade will include new poles and lighting for both the Footy Field and the Athletics Track.  Thank you to the Qld Government’s Department of Sport & Recreation for funding for this much needed project.

Shade Shelters at Leslie Patrick Park
Extra seating has been installed under the two new shade shelters at Leslie Patrick Park, with the final funding from Moreton Bay Regional Council grant funding.  This will offer extra seating for more people to sit out of the sun and rain.  This project was funded by Moreton Bay Regional Council under the ‘Community Facilities Development Grant’. 


New Training gear thanks to McDonalds Equipment Grant
West Arana Hills Rugby League Football Club have been successful in their bid for some great new McDonalds branded training gear they hope to see at the club soon.
They are looking forward to receiving

The Hills Carnivâle will be held on Saturday 21st May, 2011 at Leslie Patrick Park, from 12pm – 6pm, Arana Sports will be hosting a Sno Cone Stall at the event.  So come along and help out on the stall or buy some sno cones and support Arana Sports.

Local Sport & Recreation Coordinator
Arana Sports has scored funding for the local jobs plan from the Qld Government’s Dept Sport and Recreation, for the employment of a Sport & Recreation Coordinator for the next 3 years.


Arana Sports Fence Panel Advertising
In a new marketing concept Arana Sports is now advertising at Westside Soccer’s home at Grovely Sports Ground with a Fence Panel.  The fence panel has been designed around the same graphics as the very popular pull up banner, which promotes each and every club within Arana Sports.
 

Fence panels have also been used as a unique way to show our support and thanks to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund for their funding of the non-slip flooring in and outside the clubhouse at Kev Mckell and Brisbane City Council for their funding of the Solar Hot Water System.
