Normal ages for playing at Arana Netball Club are from 8 years (born 2011) to opens (over 19 years), this year players born in the first six months of 2012 and in grade 2 this year, are now able to register and play. Any players under 20 years who have not previously played for Arana Netball also need to provide proof of date of birth.
Another change to Downey Park’s grading structure this year is the introduction of competition for players over 35 years, aimed at mothers and others who are either coming back to playing after a big break, or those who are no longer competitive enough for regular grades.
The Queensland Government’s Get Started vouchers for $150.00 are available to be used towards fees for children in registered clubs. Arana Netball Club is registered for this, so any families who may be eligible need to check the guidelines and have a QGrants account set up before the next round opens for applications this month. Those registered previously need only to log in again. See www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/funding/getinthegame/getstarted/apply.
